Atlas Orthogonal Technique
Misalignment of the spinal vertebra can cause nerve root irritation and dysfunction. This in turn can result in a wide variety of painful conditions. The Atlas Orthogonal (AO) Technique works to correct spinal alignment. Some of the conditions that typically respond well to the AO treatments are, various types of headaches, neck and back pain, and radiating pain in the arms/hands or legs and feet. Dizziness and vertigo also often respond well. Dr. Nepa is board certified in the Atlas Orthogonal Technique (AO), and is one of a select few doctors in NJ to have that certification.
The Atlas Orthogonal adjusting instrument, shown at right, relieves nerve pressure by delivering a precise and gentle vibration just at the surface of the skin.
Did you know that problems with the neck are a commonly overlooked cause of back pain? If the head is not centered and is tilted to one side, the center of gravity shifts and the spine must compensate for the shift, resulting in stress on the back and pelvis. To help center the head, Dr. Nepa employs the AO technique which is an acoustic wave treatment applied under the ear lobe that delivers the actual adjustment without popping or cracking the spine. The treatment is so gentle that the patient doesn't even feel it. Patients are typically surprised by the relief they experience from such an amazingly gentle treatment. Many patients report immediate pain relief after only one treatment.
