In The News

Dr. Ottavio Nepa of Woodland Park, NJ is offering parents, students and teachers free backpack screenings and education on what he calls the “Backpack Predicament”.

“There is an epidemic going on that is affecting many students and I want to do something about it,” Dr. Nepa says. “The Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates that 7353 emergency room visits each year result from injuries related to backpacks. Realize that number represents only those children that actually needed emergency room care because the pain was so bad. The actual number of children with neck, back and shoulder problems due to backpacks is far greater. They also reported that backpack-related injuries are up 330% since 1996. This is an important issue and one that needs to be addressed."

Dr. Nepa Asks some important questions of interest to Woodland Park residents - Chiropractor Woodland Park Dr. Nepa Asks...

What's your plan to deal with drug-resistant 'super germs'?
Chiropractors have always been concerned with the indiscriminate use of antibiotics, accelerating the mutation of microbes that make "wonder" drugs increasingly ineffective. My strategy? Do everything possible to bolster my immune system through proper diet, rest, exercise, clean air, pure water and an optimally functioning nervous system with regular chiropractic care.
What's the difference between maintenance, prevention and wellness?
Maintenance chiropractic care is an attempt to keep a dynamic, ever-changing and adapting organism (you) in a static relationship with your environment. Preventive chiropractic care is mostly about early detection. Wellness chiropractic care is an attempt to optimize our health and be all that you were designed to be.
